Espoo gathered plenty of buzz at Web Summit 2023 in Lisbon, where our experts, Sini Karhunen and Ossi Ritvos, were promoting Espoo as a leading European innovation ecosystem. The Finnish side event — Finnish Capital Region, Deep Dive into the Coolest Startup Hub in the World — was also a great success, getting over 200 registrations and a packed ambassador’s residence.
We also had the pleasure to connect Espoo-based companies to Japanese corporations in our Japan Innovation Party in October! 19 companies from Japan and 45 from Espoo participated in the networking event that showcased some of the best of what Espoo's innovation community has to offer. After the meetings and tour of Espoo’s innovation ecosystem, we were honoured to welcome the Ambassador of Japan to Finland, H.E. Kazuhiro Fujimura, to open the evening festivities.
