Defence Tech Hub

Espoo is at the forefront of research and development in key strategic areas of defence, such as communication (5G/6G), quantum and space technologies, cyber security, microelectronics, XR/VR, and hyperspectral imaging. 

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is setting up the NATO DIANA (Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic) accelerator and test centre in Otaniemi, Espoo, in collaboration with Aalto University and the University of Helsinki. 

Defence Tech Hub boosts innovation, business, and know-how in Finland as well as increases cooperation by strengthening Espoo's position as a world-class centre of defence tech, open to both domestic and foreign players.
