New competence centers for digital sensor signal processing technologies

  • Bosch Sensortec opens two new offices in Oulu and Espoo
  • International expansion aims at enlarging competencies in the development of digital sensor signal processing technologies
  • Several open positions at new locations with focus on integrated circuit design and embedded software

Bosch Sensortec is gaining a foothold in Finland with two new offices in Oulu and Espoo. This international expansion is aimed at securing the company’s position as a leading provider of microelectromechanical (MEMS) sensors for consumer electronics. The new base camp in Europe gives Bosch Sensortec access to a key industrial location for the development of high-tech MEMS technologies.

Competence enhancement for digital sensor signal processing

MEMS sensors are getting smaller and at the same time smarter, with more and more intelligence being built into the product. This enables sensing and intelligence at the edge, opening up a whole new range of applications that use sensor fusion. This development also requires new technologies to meet the requirements of these applications. One such enabling technology is digital sensor signal processing, on which the new sites in Oulu and Espoo will focus. To this end, talent is being sought in the field of integrated circuit (IC) design and embedded software development.

"Our expansion in Finland is a critical step to securing our leadership position in the consumer electronics market," said Stefan Finkbeiner, CEO of Bosch Sensortec. "The two new offices in Oulu and Espoo will allow us to leverage regional resources and attract the best IC design and embedded software talent to advance our development work on signal processing technologies for digital sensors."
