Finland is selected as the happiest country in the world for the 9th time in a row

Finland has once again been named the world's happiest country, topping a ranking of 147 nations for the ninth year in a row. The World Happiness Report is based on how people rate their own quality of life, with Finns giving an average score of 7.8 out of 10.

Nordic countries continue to dominate the list, with Iceland and Denmark following Finland, while Costa Rica ranks fourth. Sweden and Norway take fifth and sixth places.

The report, compiled by the University of Oxford with partners including the UN and Gallup, uses survey data where people rate their lives on a scale from 0 to 10. Rankings reflect these self-assessments, influenced by factors such as income, life expectancy, freedom, and low corruption.
