Open job: Director, Invest In & Growth Services, Enter Espoo


Are you interested in working in Finland's leading innovation ecosystem? We're looking for Director and Team Leader for our Invest In & Growth Services to lead our team's proactive sales and business attraction work.

Enter Espoo's mission is to attract companies, investments, and visitors to Espoo and help local players to succeed. Your task in this position is to help international companies to engage with the Finnish innovation ecosystem and foreign venture capital investors to invest in local startups. Your goal is to identify new clients and implement activities together with our key partners and multicultural team. Your work will enable the creation of new jobs in Espoo. 
We're looking for a person who understands international companies' innovation and collaboration activities, is used to working in an international environment, and has a successful track record in B2B sales of investment and business opportunities. You should love working with people, be sales and strategy driven, and have a proactive working style. You should also have excellent communication and language skills, enjoy fast-paced and changing environments and be a real team player.

In this position you:  

  • Lead the proactive sales and attraction work of international corporations.  
  • Help and coach your team members to succeed. 
  • Work actively with the key local partners in Espoo's innovation ecosystem (VTT, Aalto University, local corporations, and the City of Espoo) and help them develop new investment opportunities.  
  • Communicate actively and present investment opportunities to select target groups.
  • Land foreign direct investment (FDI) projects and develop client relationships. 
  • Identify key innovation and development environments and partners for clients and help clients to set up and develop business operations in Espoo.
  • Help to secure that the businesses landed in Espoo succeed and expand. 
  • Help Espoo innovation community-based startups find investors and partners.
  • Work in close and active cooperation with Espoo's innovation community as well as other national and international key players.  
  • Prepare marketing and sales activities together with the team. 
  • Document, measure and follow the impacts of the actions.
  • Report directly to the company's CEO and be part of the leadership team.   

You are the right person if you have the following: 

  • A relevant master's degree.
  • Solid coaching leadership style.
  • Strong international B2B sales track record — especially in FDI work.
  • Experience of innovation, technology, and growth ecosystems.
  • Strong networks in Espoo's innovation ecosystem and abroad, especially in Germany, Japan, India, the Nordics, and North America. 
  • Experience of working in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluent language skills in English, knowledge of Finnish and other languages is seen as an asset.
