VTT will launch Finland's first NATO DIANA accelerator programme in 2026

Finland's first NATO DIANA accelerator programme will be launched by VTT in Espoo next year. Companies from all NATO member countries can apply for the accelerator by 11 July.

In 2024, two NATO DIANA test centres were established in Espoo, and the new DIANA accelerator will soon start to support NATO's targets for developing dual-use technologies.

In the accelerator programme, companies acquire the skills to develop dual-use technologies for addressing major defence and resilience challenges. Companies are offered training, mentoring, and access to defence expertise and investor networks in commercial, technical, and defence-related issues. Companies also can access NATO's commercial market through the Rapid Adoption Service (RAS) mechanism, contractual funding of EUR 100,000, and a high-quality 6-month hands-on training programme with access to about 180 test centres.

The 2026 programme covers ten technology themes: energy and power, advanced communications technologies, contested electromagnetic environments, human resilience and biotechnology, operations in extreme environments, maritime operations, resilient space operations, critical infrastructure and logistics, autonomy and unmanned systems, and data-assisted decision making.
