World Happiness Report 2022 ranks Finland as the world’s happiest country for the fifth time in a row. The war in Ukraine and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have grimly shown that happiness is a precious thing not to be taken for granted.

The World Happiness Report 2022 ranks Finland as the world’s happiest country for the fifth consecutive year. This nice piece of news is usually celebrated in Finland. In the light of the recent events, the report only emphasises that happiness is priceless.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 still hasn’t gone away. It’s not just, perhaps, at the forefront of people’s minds after two years of living in a pandemic-ridden world.

These world-changing happenings have emphasised that the togetherness of people forms the solid foundation of a happy and sustainable society. Finland, fortunately, has been able to build this foundation well.

The report seems to agree as it compliments Finland and other Nordic countries for their strong sense of social togetherness. Other factors stated include institutional trust, handling of COVID-19, free education and healthcare and good work-life balance.
