IQM, a global leader in full-stack superconducting quantum computers, has signed a distribution agreement with the Japanese TOYO Corporation, a leader in measurement technology and promoting technological innovation, to accelerate the adoption of quantum computing in Japan.
TOYO will distribute IQM's on-premises superconducting quantum computers to universities, research institutions, and companies. In the last 12 months, IQM has delivered more on-premises quantum computers to end-users in various countries than any other manufacturer.
This partnership will focus on accelerating the commercial potential of quantum computing and also promote the development of next-generation quantum talent in Japan, aligning with IQM's commitment to advancing the local quantum ecosystem.
TOYO will market and sell IQM Spark, a 5-qubit system, and IQM Radiance, which ranges from 20-qubit to 150-qubit on-premises superconducting quantum computers. TOYO will also promote the cultivation of specialised quantum technology talent and its societal implementation. The Japanese quantum ecosystem is growing rapidly, supported by significant government investment.
This partnership demonstrates a mutual commitment from IQM and TOYO to support the Japanese government's initiative to have 10 million domestic quantum users by 2030. IQM is committed to advancing quantum technologies in the APAC region, with the new partnership complementing IQM's current collaboration with Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).
