IQM Quantum Computers has announced the appointments of Jan Goetz as sole CEO and Søren Hein as COO and Deputy CEO.
The new leadership structure reinforces IQM's focus on scaling quantum computers for industrial and commercial use, positioning the company for global expansion and long-term growth. The change also supports IQM to meet the evolving needs of AI-driven organisations and high-performance computing centres while accelerating progress towards fault-tolerant quantum computing.
Mikko Välimäki, who held the commercial role for a successful tenure as Co-CEO, will step down. He will continue as an advisor until 31 March 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
Since being founded in 2018, IQM has grown into a globally leading quantum computing company. Over the past year, the company has achieved significant milestones, including selling and shipping more on-premises quantum computers than any competitor and completing the largest Series B funding round in the quantum field outside the US.
